Babies who are taught to use signs to express basic ideas (e. g, fingers to the lips for eat, fingers raised in a v for bunny) before they can say the words are both happier because they can communicate with others and more adept at speaking once they begin to acquire language. Baby signs are pulling language at earlier stages from the parents, good, milk , sleep pictures. I't been found from experience that a mix of signs and sounds speeds up the learning process, and there are six concepts that babies can recognise. They are naming someone, something (mum, dad, milk, food), finding something (where's the dog?), something finished or missing (all gone), asking for more (more food, more milk), and owning something (my cat, my teddy). Teaching your baby sign language also teaches them that there is more to communication and social interaction than just words. Communication does involve hand gestures, body movements and facial expression. so using meaningful sign language with toddlers is as easy as waving goodbye in front of them when someone leaves the house. The success in baby signing is to make it enjoyable
